Need advice

My old man's birthday is coming up in a few months and I wanted to get him something special. He's a Vietnam Veteran and sometimes talks about his experiences as a cav scout during his first door (huey gunship door gunner on his second). The weapons he carried include the M16, M60-loved it, M79, and while on point, an Ithaca Model 37 12 gauge. Since I can't legally purchase, let alone afford most of the weapons mentioned, I'm pretty much limited to the Ithaca. This isn't really a problem since he really liked the shotgun. Anyway, does anyone know where I can find an Ithaca as close as possible to the original vietnam model? No frills, no hunting scenes, no "upgrades". Any input would appreciated!

I've been trying to get JohnO to sell me his, but it has sentimental value to him so no dice.

Ithaca's that were in Vietnam frequently had the hunting scene.....a lot of times the armorers would buy or order short barrel shotguns from local suppliers, so some have the scene and some don't.
