Re: My collection (so far)...

bovver...been in and out of collecting ak mags for about 8 years and seriously the last 3...

big_johnson-92...the fellow that has been supplying me w/Paki stuff brings it out himself and I trust him implicitly...the other thing about Paki mags is that they're all really cheaply made (the metal mags make the Korean commercial stuff look heavey duty)...in the pic notice the bottom horizontal ribbing...the stamping process didn't quite raise ribbing...the mag has absolutely no proof stamping on it...as time allows I'll be posting pics of some 30 rd Paki 74's and 47's...

I did notice the very poor quality of the stamping on that magazine. I just know that I have seen many poor quality magazines, and I just wanted to make sure you weren't basing your identification on that alone. Awesome collection!

Re: My collection (so far)...

If I remember correctly, the Pakistanis are the only ones really making a fake "bakelite orange" magazine out of plastic. The mag in the pic doesn't even really look like bakelite... because it's plastic, right? And I think I saw they had a flower proof on the other side?

Re: My collection (so far)...

CumbiaDude...you're right...the Paki's don't do bakelite...it's all poly with some fake graining in or on it to make it look kinda like bakelite...the mag you're looking at only has a ((23)) stamped on the lower right side and nothing else on the left side...the 74 SAG mags have the 3 leaf clover stamped on them...the rest will have faux bulgy, izzy or molot stampings on them...Paki's are great cheap copiers...

40 round bakelite mag with a Molot body stamp. WOW! I wish I had that mag. All my 40 round bakelites don't have the Molot body stamp.

How did you get that one? There must be a story.

Jetdriver...it's a very sad story...I have alot of unmerciful acquaintances that enjoy exploiting my addiction problem ...

I'll probably continue with 7.62 stuff in a few days...and thank you all for your very kind comments.

Re: My collection (so far)...

Damn, nice. What's the deal with that brass lug on the Paki mag?
Brass lug? Really?

I always wondered why the Bulgarians didn't make clear waffles with the steel in them? Why is this???

Re: My collection (so far)...

Razorhunter...the Paki's will use/substitute whatever resources they have available when they build something...you'll find alot of variations (not all) of their mags have the brass lugs...the Bulgy clears were just experimental and all the details as to why they even exist have never been made public...the clear ones are real crackomatics...I've clipped off the spring in mine by about 33% to help ease the tension on the mag body...
