The slant is cut and positioned accordingly on the muzzle due to the AK's tendency to climb up and to the right during full-auto/rapid firing. The birdcage is a flash suppressor. Two different animals with two very different purposes.
Thanks. I have slant breaks on my WASR's, so I'm comfortable with how they shoot. Since the rifle won't fire full-auto, then the benefit is probably minimal.
I'm thinking about replacing one of the slants with a birdcage. Will there be any difference in the way the rifle performs? Firing semi-auto, is the "climbing tendency" more noticeable? I also have read where the birdcage makes the rifle louder...is that true?
