I got a great deal on German Flectarn at Sportsmans Guide.

Brand new top/bottom for $75.

That was a while ago. YMMV
Try some Surplus stores that are near bases. The ones in Ft. Hood are overflowing with Gore Tex of every size.
Thanks guys. Harlan, Sportsmans guide still has the german set for $100 new. Pretty damn good if ya ask me. Think Ill go that route.

Tony.
since the army is pretty much ditching bdu pattern items, it seems you can get a bdu pattern gortex for pretty cheap
Be careful though, there are some well made bdu goretex and then there is alot of foreign shit, the original goretex i was issued was great, but a few of my buddies got cheap shit, that was anything but waterproof.

to the lowest bidder goes the contract
Wolfk, thank you for the heads up. That issue never crossed my mind. Again, another good point.
Yeah some surplus goretex may have worn seams that need attention - otherwise they will let water seem through and you'll eventually get soaked in a heavy downpour or walking through rain-soaked woods.
Goretex Bivvy Sack?

I don't know if this needs a new posting, but I'd like to find the Gore tex bivvy sack for the modular sleep system. Does anyone know who sells these?

You can usually find these on ebay.

Especially now that the big Army is finally swapping out all the woodland and desert stuff for all ACU, should be plenty of goretex floating around cheap.

IIRC, US cavalry has them new.

There was a surplus store here that went OOB and had them for $75.

They also had OD green thermarest brand pads for $29.

And like a dummy, I didn't buy 5 of each when I was there.

I didn't make it back in time..........
These folks have (Goretex Bivy Bags- US GI) them from time to time.
I bought a new USMC from them for $75.

The only thing I don't like about Gore-tex is that it's noisy as hell.

It's only as noisy as it's carriage garment ( Gore-Tex is a waterproof layer used IN garments, not AS garments ).
I've got a BDU pattern jacket, DCU pattern jacket and pants, and ABU pattern jacket.

All were free.
Treat it first

Most surplus Goretex I've experianced is pretty much ragged out as far as its waterproofing ability goes. You will be disapointed and wet. But it is easy to fix. Go to a outdoors store that sells Goretex type clothing and but a Wash In Goretex treatment. Throw it and the Goretex in the washer , fallow all directions and presto. I still use a spray on, as well just to make sure it works perfectly.
