I just acquired a NIB MAK 90. I was pleasently suprised as I expected a pretty rough gun. It has good fit and finish and the internals are very nice.
The trigger on this rifle is exceptional and I would rather not change it. It is a slant cut receiver with a thumbhole butt stock can I simply replace the butt stock, hand guards, mag followers and floor plates with domestic parts and use a domestic pistol grip and stay compliant ?
Thanks.

You could do that.

Take a look at the thread that Pat41 started, he's got a couple slant cut receivers that he put Ironwood stocks on and they look great.

Chinese AK's are some of the best out there.

Ironwood stock st = 3 pieces

Gas Piston = 1 piece

Floor plate and follower would give you two extra pieces. If you thread the barrel and put a slant brake on there or a flash suppressor or something make sure it's US made.
