First magazine shot my out of the box MAK 90 thumbhole stock cracked . Most would run in the bathroom and sit on the toilet for two days with door locked & pout . I went straight to the shop grabbed some black walnut coping saw chisels and went to work . Full well knowing the slant Receiver would be problematic to fit any thing I could buy if I could find one . Most outfits making what I wanted basically said they would do it when they had time . At 66 years old I'm not waiting for a bus . The plate on the butt is aluminum sheet I profiled to be the starting point of profiling the stock . I will make walnut hand guards next winter Im way behind in the reloading room from this project . The reason I used walnut this is what I had in hand .

Made one for the milled MAK-90. Took a while and turned my garage into a sawdust bowl but worth the effort!

Yes a real mess I would think someone set up with a decent wood shop could turn some out . Just not any good alternatives for slant cut really happy to put the thumb hole away . And it did take forever !

had to do the very same thing with a NHM91 slant cut thumbhole stock before there were alternatives.
Seems like whats old is new again, what with ironwood being gone now..

Marking the butt stock to step down butt for butt plate , most of my tools are very primitive - coping saw , razor blades , can opener a few files . A crowd of on lookers !
