My MAK 90 has a canted font sight. I found a Tutorial on how to fix it on a Romanian AK, so I'd imagin it would be pretty much the same on most of the AKs. What is the hole size in the front sight base? What size bit do I use to drill the sight base and barrel? What size stock do I use to replace the pins?
After the sight is straight is there a problem with the bit following the radius of the barrel instead of going straight so both holes in the sight base line up?
I am open to pointers, tips and suggestions that will make this as easy and correct as possible.
Thanks.

I don't do it involving any drilling.

After getting the pins out and the sight level...

I use a needle file to dress a hole back thru the fixture. Then, I use whatever "stock" I have at hand (usually old drill bits) to make new pins.

This has always been a effective approach that leaves everything clean & nicey fitted.

Jus' my opine.
