K-Var vs. TAPCO stock

I have a K-Var black plastic stock on an SAR-1. I like it, but it's an AKM, with an AK-74 style stock.

How does the TAPCO black plastic AKM stock compare to K-Var's stuff colorwise and otherwise?

there is a reason that "Crap" comes before "CO" in the word "CRAPCO"

their furniture is so horrible words cant describe it
If you mean their new AKM stocks, they are pretty nice. Hard and durable plastic, not brittle- and for once they are actually AK stocks! I was glad to see them release something actually designed for the AK instead of rigged to go with it.

If you don't mind the lack of a cleaning kit (the ones I handled didn't have the slot) then it is definitely worth buying.

Despite this nay saying I have had no issue with my tapco furniture.

There is a pretty big Tapco hater bandwagon, yet to see any real evidence of "so horrible words cannot describe it"

lots of them use tapco products too
Taking a look at it, I would guess that its pretty solid. That being said, there was never a polymer AKM stock that I know of. I think your rifle would look better with the 74 stock as that probably happened many a times where AKMs were upgraded to 74 furniture.

Tapco has always been short on quality and design. People are willing to pay a few more bucks to have something built right. I think Tapco really pissed away an opportunity by not coming to market with a quality AK-100 style folder like K-Var did.
sorry for the harsh words but i got soured on tapco with a crappy ak stock and a couple of shitty shotgun stocks that my friends had on their guns, i wasnt impressed.....i ended up buying twice and i didnt want to see some one else do the same....
Oh, I've dealt with TAPCO plenty in the past. I bought a boatload of FAL stuff from them when they had the kits and parts.

I did buy one of their black plastic "Galil" handguard sets. I was not impressed. Hence my question about their stocks.

Thanks for the replies! I'll stick with the K-Var stock.
