I was doing the same math reading the OP! Its a reasonable deal for sure!JDA1 said:Guys, don't be so quick: Lets Do the Math~~
--Wasr 10: Now running any where from $350.00-$400.00 So we'll say $375.00
--6 30 Round Mags: $15.00-$20.00 Lets say $17.50 =$105.00
--800 Rounds Of Ammo: Wolf Running 10000/$209.97= .21 cents a round =$168.00
Total would be: =$648.00
$600.00 for a Wasr you can inspect first hand, in a local buy where you can avoid Transfer Fee / Sales Tax (Which I did not include) is not such a bad deal. If it does not have any Cant or Mag Wobble and especially if it is a No Ban model (Bayo Lug, Muzzle Comp.) I would take it. Hell, I'd take it at that price if it was a ban model.~~
Just my experience with them and being sent to Century multiple times and not being fixed and seeing other peoples refuse to work.jdub said:I am new here but,,
Whats so bad about a WASR, if it doesn't work and its new, Century will take it back and fix it. I have 2 $300 WASR's that put lead downrange the same as my $600 AK?
I have sent things back to Century several times myself. Talked to the lady over customer service, she had the rifle sent to her, she called me personally at home after my CETME had to go back for the 3rd time to make sure I was satisfied. I personally have not had the problems with Century customer service as others claim. Yes 3 times is 3 too many but, one time I was trying to send back a new M70ab2 b/c of a sewage pipe gas block. My local UPS hub decided they weren't going to ship my rifle or any "firearm related items." Called Century and 3 hours later the manger at UPS called me up and told me to bring it in. Also I have never seen a WASR fail to do anything but put lead downrange without problems. Just my 2 cents.PinkPanther said:Just my experience with them and being sent to Century multiple times and not being fixed and seeing other peoples refuse to work.jdub said:I am new here but,,

I agree! I had another post about how to tell if the WASR was made from reject part. I am not trolling just wanted proof. My Fiancee is Romanian and I now have lots of Romanian friends and alot were in the Rom. Army. They all know about Cugir factory as well. Cugir builds new firearms for the commercial market. Why does the WASR have to be reject parts? Heres whats so funny to my Rom. friends and myself. We as Americans think just b/c there are no inspection stamps or proof marks etc on the WASR's they are made of rejects right? Well if Cugir factory thought for one second that Americans weren't buying the WASR b/c of a lack of proof stamps they would be beating the stamps all over the rifles..... Also, the part about not being up to spec for the Rom. Army, if you know anything about the Rom. govment or Army that is almost laughable. I ask my Rom. friends about quality control, (they laugh outloud.) As long as an AK functions and does not have the most severe defects, it is fit for service. Now if it is true that Cugir is contracted by other NATO countries to produce weapons for them QC may get better. Of course I will have to conclude this with "this is all IMHO..."JDA1 said:With a Wasr you know that You are getting a factory built rifle, with new parts. Made for the U.S commerical market, not out of reject rifles like some like to believe. The only thing Century does to them is open up the mag well and add the 922R compliance parts. I've had a Maadi with a canted front sight, an Arsenal with magazine wobble ( and it had dimples) and a Saiga that the Gas block was atrocious. The only Factory AK's available right now other then Wasr's are the various Arsenals, Saigas and a few Bulgarian SSR's. Everything else is a kit build. So you are taking a chance. Unless you buy from a reputable builder or dealer some of these kit builds will come with NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have 7 Wasr's with 6000 rounds plus put through them all~~no problems. Whats really funny though was back in the late 80's we had the same discussions but it was always dont buy a Chinese Ak, they are junk. You should buy the Hungarian, Yugo etc. Well now those Chinese are raved about for the quality and fetch a premium, its all a matter of choice~~
