I traded for about i was told a dozen Bulgy Ak74 mags---one was bulgy-
The others thats where the confusion-for me at least comes in.
One one side is the IZZY mark (arrow in triangle) other side has a number
raised embossed 2 digit 12-35-67-34-45-etc
Some have galtic names electro penciled in some dont-all have been used but two have had a rough life-the rear of the follwer is pretty badly chipped.

Heres the odd thing they are i guess you could say and odd BROWN(ish)
color dark but not black.

What in the world did i end up with?

Thanks

Your magazines sound interesting - it's always fun to find some with some "soldier art" on them.

Here's a link to show a rough estimate of price - Rapid Fire has (or had) them for $89.95 for a 4-pack:

Quite a lot were imported as "Bulgarian AK74 mags".

So were Polish 5.45x39 polymer mags.

They are more common than you think.
okay well im happy with the mags

Just i collect the 7.62x39 mags and just got into the 5.45-They all have a white 'M' stencil by the mag lips within a box and about half have that and then a 'V' white stamped within a circle on the flat spine

Like this?

Definitely Izhmash plum mags. They're fairly common in terms of quantities imported. Many or even most probably came in through Bulgaria, as it's not uncommon to find them with Bulgarian brown internal replacement parts. The Russian plums ORF is selling at $89.95/4pk are like-new; they were offering the same mags at ~$55.00/4pk not too long ago. I've bought used plums for as little as $7 to $10 a throw.

That said, prices on -74 mags have gone up across the boards in the last year or so, due to rapidly shrinking supplies of surplus mags, coupled with growing popularity of the AK-74 platform spurred by lots of cheap 5.45 ammo.

Thank you guys

Well i like the fact 4 of them have been 'THERE' can tell a solider had em.
Broke em down and they did have a different color follower-One is written all over -name then some doodleing-does not effect feed and i really like the history..
So what is the story with white stampings just curious. This will be my third 5.45 and i have 6 crates of Bulgy.
Never can tell what the election will bring those of us who enjoy something other than a .22 bolt action.

They are generically known as "proof marks"; I don't know what they signify (could be the Russian equivalent of "Inspected by 12").

I've seen many different types on the Izhmash plums:
