I just ordered a '69 Izzy AKM parts kit and once I obtain the remaining components (receiver, barrel, & FCG) plan to send it off to one of our builders for completion. Last year I found about 90% of an E. German armorer's kit @ the swapmeet nearby. Among the components was a small bag of rivets and (barrel?) pins. I wondered if any of these might be of use for the AKM build. The specifics are the rivets have a head diameter of .265in. The shaft diameter is .153in. The length of the single, long rivet is 1.740in. (crown of head to end). The small rivets are .444in. Lastly, the pins are 1.048in. in length & .196in. in diameter. The guy the stuff came from used to build AKs, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Those rivets look like AK builder rivets, and there are not emough. Just order a set from AK builder. This shiny pins, I am not sure what they are for, but I have one I use as a slave pin for triggers.

Thanks for the info. I have seen numerous references to "AK Builder" so will have to see if I can find his contact info on the Forum...
