Had a real good day!

I had to share this one, if nothing more than my own enjoyment. I had a real good day today. I've been working six - ten hour days for way to damn long. Yesterday I got my paycheck that was good and bad, they paid me for the two hours I missed for a dentist appt., but shorted me the ten hours of time & half on Saturday. Today I got a separate check for Sat. ( saved me a bit on the taxes), was told don't worry about the two hour over pay, got a check for quarterly safety ( no one on my team had any recordable injuries), my name was drawn for the weekly safety bonus ( $25 Home Depot card) and I hit the pay check pool! In total this week was just shy of $1900.00. The bills are paid ,kids are fed, so I was gonna take some of this weeks check and the gun fund stash and go shopping. Now I really gotta think What the hell do I want!

In these times! Put it in the bank.
The paycheck most definitely. But the $530 from the check pool has gun fund written all over it. The wife dont know I hit that. I will take her out to dinner, but the rest is all mine.
$530 from a check pool????

DAYUMM!!!

actually, with a lot of these financial institutions closing, i would not put it in the bank... maybe a safety deposit box. i am about | | <--- that close to closing out my debit/checking account and going nothing but cash.
Good for you Akstormi! IMHO good guns are a good investment during these times. Go have fun and pick up something nice. If your ever in dire need of funds you should be able to get your money back, or close to it, if you had to.
I went shopping tonight after work.
For those who participated in the check pool, I thank you for your contributions to my addiction. Your loss was not in vane.

Very nice! Congratulations.

The only time I win the checkpool is when the pot is like $30 - $40 dollars.

I heard that the checkpool last summer at the new blast furnace job in Detroit was around $12,000 dollars.
The winner immediately gets escorted off site with a bag o' cash.
