You have to lead 'em a little. Track the "bird" and place the bead slightly in front if going side to side, slightly under if going away from you.

Mount the gun, get a natural cheek weld, and just shoot the bird. Shotgun shooting is very instinctive, if you try to think about what you're doing, you'll miss.
I shoot trap 3 times a week and go through more 12 gauge than I'd care to admit. It's a very fun sport.
