Welcome to the group!

The GLNIC imports were among the earlier ones, being a spiker (underfolding bayo) it was imported before Kengs somehow got the rights to that style and imported them through Poly Technologies. That would put the year among the early ones at about 1985-86.

The name of the rifle being AK47S along with the Poly Tech Legend were the only Kalashnikov rifles with the American news media name. Cool to have as the Soviets called them Avtomat Kalashnikova with no number designation for year of approval as the AK truly wasn't approved until 1949! Funny that the Chinese trying to enter the lucrative USA market gave them the media handle. When those didn't sell the went ahead and gave them the 56 designation with the added S either being for import models or semi-auto only model. I have heard both but believe semi-auto.

Value wise a rifle only with no accessories of box is still selling for high dollars in the $2000 plus range.

The Chinese marked their rifles based on the request of the importer, so markings varied from importer to importer and sometimes even among a single importer's rifles.

Yours is among the more desirable variations because of the lock on the underfolding bayonet by the Keng Family importers with the Poly Tech designation.
