I was surprised in actually coming to like the ghostring on my last AR, at-least once I got it set-up correctly. Seemed to give a lot wider target view than the AK's blade-n-post set-up.

Are there any aftermarket ghostrings for AK's.

How about the Krebs peep site? What kind of sight picture does it give? Truly a peep or something more open? (Their web site photo doesn't show a sight picture.)

Are there ny other options?

Does that work with the normal rear sight, or would it need to be replaced with a peep of some sort?

Appears to be just a replacement for the front post.

I'm actually more interested in a rear ring, with keeping the original front post.

Yeah, but I can't see how that sight would work with a standard rear sight. I think it's a cool sight, but I'd probably want a rear peep to go with it...

Here is the email response I got back from the guys at KNS:

Our sight will work with the standard rear blade sight. Line up the verticle
with the "V" in the rear sight and the horizontal with the top of the blade.
However, it is easier with a rear aperture sight. Brownells sells them.
Part #962-474-760, $25.95.
Thanks,
Brooks

I've been dying to hear feedback on the Krebs peep sight but haven't heard of anyone using it. It seems much better than the MOJO peep sight because you can use the original elevation slide which is a huge plus, IMO. I'd rather not dick around with allen wrenches when adjusting elevation. Anyone here ever try it?

I'm looking into peep/ghostring sites myself. I haven't decided what I want,
yet.

The new Mojo MicroClick sights use a thumb wheel with detents rather than
allen screws. It looks pretty nice. Check them out. Redstar carries them.

I'm currently undecided whether I want to go with the MicroClick or the
Krebs. Still looking around to see if there are other alternatives.

Has anyone ever used the cheapy rear aperture sight that Brownell's sells?

Part Number: 962-474-760

They're $26 bucks (which is attractive), but who wants to waste $26 bucks on something that doesn't work too well?
