Would the Bulgarian steel side folding stocks work on the S.E.R. gun
as long as the folding stock is for a stamped receiver? I know K-var
had them listed although they are currently out of stock but thats ok
because (if they will work) it will be a couple of months until the S.E.R.s
are finished.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The only reason I'm asking this is because I had a Hungarian AKM back
in the eighties that was imported by a company called Kassner Imports.

I bought the one that had the wood stock but there was a version with
a steel folding stock and I recall something to the effect that if you didn't
get it with the folder you couldn't change to one later. I can't recall why but I recall something about the Hungarian made AKMs having something about a tang that wouldn't allow a folder. Off course with using an American receiver it shouldn't matter.

I want to put a steel Russian or Bulgarian folder on the S.E.R. Hungarian
and just wanted to be sure is why I'm asking for input.

They were underfolders.
But you can use either an East German or Romanian wire side folder on it without any modifications to the reciever.

I'm not sure I know what a S.E.R. Hungarian (FEG maybe?) is but if it's an AK or AKM pattern then yes you can. If you would like, I can do it for you. I have all the parts in stock. I have installed several Bulgi sidefolders on Yugo Krinks as well as about 50 other rifles. It takes a little more work but very "do-able".

I'm sorry-I was refering to the Special Edition Rifle that the forum is
currently doing. I guess I should have specified that the S.E.R. is a
FEG SA-58 but I just assumed everyone in the board knew about it
since the S.E.R. has its own section during the build process. My
mistake.

The Bulgarian or Russian side folders that are sort of triangle
shaped are the ones I'm wanting to use. (I didn't want the wire
folder.) Its just good to verify that it can be done. I don't know for sure
if I'll do it to this particular gun as the wood may turn out so nice I'll want to keep it that way.

Its just that I want a SHTF type of gun for my RV
so I need something compact with a folder. I have a underfolder AK but
the sidefolders are quicker to get into action.
Thanks for the replys.
