You might want to post where at in Florida you are located. I just moved from the Ocala area and I know there are several builders in that area that may chime in and offer some help. I would if I was still in the area.

I`m in Pensacola, have bolt cutter tools inhand and the experience of building 10 ak`s so far. For my long rivets I back the round head up with a steel plate with a dimple, gently peen the other end over into something resembling a rivet head then finish it to shape with a rod with a dimple drilled into the end and some light hammer strikes.

Some Tips

Practice first on some scrap metal - it will be ugly for your first one, probably lopsided. you have to get the feel as to hard to hit it. remember some of the
rivets are in tight places. Some people heat up the rivet first for the tight ones. Remember you don't want to deform the receiver!!!!!!!!! Make sure everything fits first - mag aligned to Front Receiver - Don't use up your good
rivets get some Ace Hardware practice ones. Heat should be no hotter than
yellow color for the rivet.
