I’ve noticed that the serial number format on wasr 22’s are pretty much the same. 22-XXXX-XX. I’m assuming that the last two digits indicate the year it was made?? I’m curious as to when they were first produced. I have two of them that are only off a couple digits, and have a very low serial number (in the 20’s). They both end in 05, and are engraved very deep. If this does indicate the year manufactured, how far back has anyone seen them go?

My AKT is a 2004. Except for the furniture is the Wasr and AKT the same?

WASR's seem to work better but the AKT had better quality in the finish work

Try Hunters Lodge (Add in Shotgun news) they have had a few over the last few years ,perhaps a beginner or amateur sent one back rather than work on it themselves and they will re-sell it to you as a parts gun otherwise Gunbroker.com has a few each month (Sometimes more if you look for all 3 variants)
