My father wants to sell his Western Field Model SB-712 .222 Rem rifle and we have no idea what its worth. Does anyone have a clue? Is there an online blue book for firearms? Thanks

Couldn't find any information on it, as far as current book values are concerned. I checked gunbroker and gunsamerica also, but nothing...

It was made by Savage Arms, however. Their model number was 840.

Does it look like a Savage model 10??
Cross reference shows a Wrn Fld mod 710 is the same as the Sav Mod 10.

OK ... not that obscure

As i first throught, it it a variant of the Savage Mod 340.
Bolt action, detachable magazine feed, side mount scope,
pressed checkering rifle. Not a bad gun. I had one once in 22 hornet.
They were built in .22 hornet, .222 Rem, .223 Rem. , and 30-30 Win.
Mfg. between 1950 and 1985.

Average condition value in the $140-160 range.
