Ok I have some grind marks on my receiver where I had to redue some rivets I wasn't happy with. What have you guys used to fill in gaps? I was thinking some Bondo? Has anyone applied gunkote over this? I figure I would have to apply after sandblasting. Any other filler material ideas? Thanks again guys.

A better choice might be a polyester filler putty. Evercoat brand in a blue can. On the label:

Evercoat #100400

Polyester Glazing Putty

Ultra-smooth finishing putty.

It has a creamy texture that, when applied sparingly with a hard edge like a credit card, will easily fill pin holes or scratches. Dries fast. Sands easy, or hardly any sanding needed if applied well.

It's made to fill those types of imperfections.

I've used it under Duracoat, no problem.

But under Gunkote the heat curing must be considered. I think it is good to go because it's used with modern catalyzed paints and heated paint booths.
