Disassemble side folding stock?

1290 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  xarmy96
I have a pushbutton side folding stock that had been spot welded from Century during the Evil days. The spot weld has been ground down so the stock now folds, but it's very stiff. Can I drive the pin out to disassemble the stock, smooth down the weld scars, and redrive the pin safely and effectively?

What kind of pushbutton stock?

Bulgarian skeleton style or Romanian wire type?
i think the pushbuttons are all stiff.i have one on my romy g build and it needs a good push to close.i heard the levers folded a little easier.
Romanian. I have a couple of these, and this one is way too stiff. It's very difficult to open the stock.

Maybe you can just use a little CLP? Probably the less you open/fold it the better. I have a Romy folder that worked itself loose and the pin that keeps the button up fell out. Now it flaps in the breeze.
Yes, they are easy to disassemble, removing the pin, you remove the arm, and can then clean up the welds, it will loosen with use, but a good lock open or closed is what your after.
