You can't be serious about this idea ... right??:lol:

That whole, "This ammo is for blah blah blah, and the ammo with this tape on it is for Blah Blah" is a throwback from the AR-15 nutjobs.

Here is a good way to code your ammo with colored tape:

Country or origin:
Red = Russia
Yellow = China
Blue = Yugo
Green = South African

Type of ammo:
FMJ = Black
Hollow point = Beige
Soft point = Brown
Steel core = Orange
Tracer = Gold

Corrosive = Sky blue
Non-corrosive = Pink

So for instance, if a mag was labeled in the following colors:
Yellow, Orange, Gold, Skyblue

It would be intuitively obvious that
i was going to be shooting some Chinese steel core tracer
ammo that is corrosive...

Put the ammo in the mag and shoot it.... Don't be a Weenie!:smile:

Usually, it's an identifier of what militia group you are affiliated with. You want to stand out, like in Chechnya or Monrovia.

If you have uniforms, you may use indigeonous AO colored tape to jungle clip your mags together. You probably don't want to stand out.

the only mags i mark are the ones that wobble really bad in my WASR-10,...they get a dab of red paint by the latch lug.

but if you like your mags like that,...well,.. proudly rock that shit!

Bare with me here and I'm gonna type real slow...

Blue tape is the color most readily available and thats the color used.

Whatever a soldier has access too is whats used......if it was on the streets of the South you'd see soldiers and their pimped out silver duct tape holding mags together if no OD was available.

I know my friends in the .mil used tape on each of their mags to keep them from rattling against one another in the mag pouch. That could be the idea behind the single taped mags you see.
