I wasn't quite sure where the correct spot to post this question would be, so I will post it here. I just bought my first AK. A DDI Ak-47s. Other than shooting a few AK's, RPK's, and RPD's in the military, I have no idea what parts are compatible with the different variants. Will the Magpul Zhukov Handgaurd and stock fit on my DDI?
Thank you in advance for any help.
Far as the stock goes I believe the rear trunnion and receiver will accept the zhukov folding stock. However I'm not 100% sure about the handguard. If memory serves me DDI AKs are built on Hungarian parts and from what I recall is the trunnion may be different up front than on other euro AK variants. It is a stamped receiver AK correct?
Yes I believe it is a stamped receiver. I wasn't sure because I have seen some forum posts where guys said they put the handguard on their DDI, and some posts saying they probably wouldn't fit. But DDI also makes a Magpul edition of the same model I bought. Not sure if they modify it to fit at the factory or what.
AK-47S or AKS-47? DDI made milled underfolders and fixed stock rifles as well. If it's one of those, then the Magpul hardware won't fit. If it's one of the stamped receivers, then you're OK.
All standard AK stuff should fit it. Congrats, that's a nice first AK.
