How do you guys clean the part of the gas tube that remains on the rifle after the gas tube on the upper furniture is removed? I like to do a thourough cleaning so I was thinking of some bore cleaner or maybe action cleaner?

What do you guys do?

I use a pipe cleaner dipped in solvent. Fits that little hole perfectly. I am talking about the little hole in the barrel that allows the gas to flow into the gas tube and cycle the action. Is that what you are talking about?
I wrap a 12 guage brush in a big patch with a little solvent and spin it around.

Ya thats what I'm takling about.

thanks man
A old shop rag sprayed with gun action cleaner, push it through with the cleaning rod starting with the corner. If you get a rag that is worn out it will go all the way through. Remember to oil it up after you clean it.
Pipe cleaner and solvent. He means the gas port.
Boiling hot water with the Ultimak gas tube in place-I must be honest i have been shooting AK's for --well a long time and have never run a fuzzy pipe cleaner down that gas port.

I use a 12 gauge fuzzy with solvent after the boiling hot water for the tube itself most times i end with next to nothing on the fuzzy.[/i]
