Just got in an order of 5 E. german recoil springs from k-var and was about to swap out the recoil spring in one of my Polytechs when I noticed a difference in length (chinese 17 1/16 in. ---E.G. 16 1/2 in.). Got me thinking, so I counted the coils on each ( chicom 95---E.G. 90). The wire gauge measured .046 for each on my dial caliper.

I have no reliable way to measure the depth of the hole in the bolt carrier. Is this normal for the chicom springs to be longer than the E.G. springs ?? I've also noted different lengths among the 5 E.G. springs, are the 2 interchangable (i.e.; do the euro springs have a different rate of compression, whereas the chinese just used more spring to accomplish the same rate ??). Thanks guys !!
