dont listen to the haters , i own several Century rifles ,a couple dating back 20 or more years , i have never had a bad experience , and i own a VSKA , and i love it , i did not like how the poly furniture felt at all , very uncomfortable , so i fitted a Yugo set i had to it and its amazing , the metal finish was 3 tone but as far as functionality its been solid as any of my Chicoms , i refinished the metal on the rifle and toned shelac to get a deep cherry finish , i have maybe 1,500 rds give or take a 100 , was not vigilant in recording
Century delved into their own AK with the Ras47 , complete failure on the roll out on it , front trunion was weak causing head space issues , carrier peening , bolt metal weak causing metal deteriation , they addressed the short comings of the rifle when designing the VSKA and as far as i know on the RAS47 as well , they beefed up the front trunion that exceeds most mislpec , as well as the bolt carrier group , they addressed all the issues , not to say that when they first started producing the VSKA there were not growing pains , but once they fined tuned everything the QC was there
2 things , first the majority of Century haters have no first hand experience with them , they are parroting what they hear other parrots say , there are those that bought the RAS47 that are bitter and rightly so and a few at the beginning of the VSKA initial run ,,,2nd they seen the issue they fixed the issue , the average Century hater will push you to buy a WASR which has been a legitimate laughing stock for decades , thats how little they know about what they are talking about
look up Rob Ski's (AK47 Operators Union) video of his year long torture test of the VSKA ,you will not find a AK guy worth his salt that does not respect that guy and his opinion as well as MAC's (Military Arms Channel) 5000 shot test
the only thing Rob Ski could find to complain about the VSKA after his year long torture was he broke the sling swivel , theres another video where guy purchased a off the shelf VSKA to test the front trunion to see if they fixed the pin walk and that was very informative as well , it took more REAL pressure to remove the trunnion pin then a milspec rifle , what i mean by real pressure is ,just because you have a press that says 12 ton in no way means its even remotely capable of pressures of actual 12 ton pressures
at the end of Robs video he did a comparison between the VSKA that he had over 5k through and a WASR that he only had 500 rds through , the VSKA bolt received thumbs up in all categories , the WASR bolt with only 500 was already experiencing metal degrading on the lugs , chunks chipping off
enjoy your rifle and dont listen to anyone telling you to sell it , i check the head space after every outing with mine and its gold , if you let them talk you into dumping the rifle you are just throwing money away and losing a fun shooter
