Shoot Machineguneddie a PM, he has done a couple of builds this way. From what I remember he used Brownells Oxpho-Blue and then wore down the finish with a 3M green scrub pad. Turned out great.
"Battlefield" finish
What are you guys using to match the worn finish on an AK-47? I have a 1976 Romanian and a Yugo that have a beautiful worn finish on them. Are you parking the receiver then scrubbing it, or are you bluing the receiver and then scrubbing it? Thanks for you help.

I used a cheapo foam sanding pad and also the green scratch pad.
.99 cent black spray paint and a little steel wool with some elbow grease also looks great. Any blond stock set you wish to age also looks great with a coat of black spray paint and then rubbing it down to show wear .
