This is my friend Dave from Wisconsin! Read an overview of his case here:
http://www.gunowners.org/op0850.htm

He is currently serving 30 months in Sandstone prison in Minnesota for nothing more than borrowing an AR to a neighbor and it had a malfunction. FYI, the guy who was actually shooting it got NOTHING, because he testified against Dave for an "undisclosed amount" of money. Dave on the other hand held to his convictions and wouldn't play their game, so they let him have it. Len Savage was brought in as Dave's expert witness, and he has far greater credentials than any ATF "training". However he was not permitted to inspect or touch the gun at all, he could only watch as the ATF agent played around with it.

A big note is that the ATF "inspector" found no full-auto parts in the gun! They admitted the gun was a stock AR15, nothing more. He was convicted because his old worn out AR had a case of hammer follow and fired a few rounds in a row before jamming! They wouldn't allow him to fix it as an option, he had to go to prison instead!

> Run a search in General Discussion for: Felony Conviction.

Around 7 or 8 pages of generally very well reasoned and factual discussion of the case.
Including links to trial transcripts and court records.

Agree or disagree , your choice , but the conclusions at m4carbine are re-assuring to gun-owners who avoid self-inflicted legal issues.
