It's is extremely gratifying for this rifle to have found such a loving home.

.....I'm using the light rig that Templar recommended, the Surefire G2 in a LT-606 off-set mount......
I had also tried the same set-up, but I didn't like that it required removal of the lens covers from the Aimpoint ML2, which even then it still impinged on slightly. Then I tried the G2 on a MFI barrel mount (see here: http://www.mfiap.com/smallarms/barrel-mount-ak.htm ), which was a less crowded config, but didn't provide as good a tailcap access. By then, the whole rig was starting to feel really front-heavy to me anyway. I sure would like to see your set-up with the smaller/lighter T1 -- would possibly address all of my earlier issues.

.....I have the rifle slung on a VCAS......I carry mags in a map case I bought from CTD!......It works well for me.
I know you're not a digi-photo person, but again, a picture is worth a thousand words, and it sure would be cool to see all this gear. Get Templar or somebody with a robo-camera to go to the range with you next time.

ETA -- I'm still saving lunch money for some kind of 7.62 later this year, hopefully before the Dem's take over......

No digital camera. I prefer film.
And here I thought I was the last hold-out on earth. Finally "crossed over" just last year. My digital is an SLR though (Nikon D80), so it functions basically like my ancient Pentax K1000 35mm. After ~2 decades using the 35mm, I couldn't have ever settled for a digital point-n-click. The D80 is actually really cool, and I'm glad I finally made the switch.

But -- pics ? ? ?

BTW -- You can accept the "claimed" 1,700-round figure. I keep good records.
