Do you know if the Russain/Saiga AK-74 bolt is interchangeable with a Bulgarian AK-74 bolt if properly headspaced? I'm trying to pick up a few spare parts for my SGL-31. I'll start my own thread, but yours was at the top so I thought I'd ask an expert! :smile:

Well, I'm not sure I'd take the "expert" title, but I would think it would work. The Bulgarian 74s are near exact replicas of the Izhmash '82/'83 guns, and I'm not aware of any changes to the bolt design after that time....I'd wait for someone that is more experienced with the technical side of builds to chime in, but I'm guessing you would be good to go.

except for the case head size, my bulgy 74 bolt and siaga 5.56 are dead on same...

Always checking headspace of course I would say yes the bolts are.
