I'm thinking of turning my SA M-5 into one of these. It's got an unorthodox and uber non-traditional stock and furniture. Definitely will separate my SA M-7 from the M-5!

Post pics here, if you've got 'em!

I know you decided not to do this because of parts count problems.

What are the US parts on the SA M-5? Can I put a Bulgarian short stock on with US pistol grip and US forend and still be legal?

Just checking with the masses here before I start buying parts.

Thanks!

Parts count on the M5 and M7.........

Receiver
Buttstock
Pistol Grip
Forend
Hammer
Trigger
Disconnector

So, yes, you can put a Bulgarian buttstock on and be OK.

Thanks for the info Templar!

Am I correct in needing six US parts, so the way it comes from Arsenal is with a "bonus" seventh part?

Post-ban, need 5 parts, no-ban, 6 parts, so yes, you do get some "bonus" US parts.

The SA-M5 is a milled receiver. I thought I read somewhere that it has one less part (trunion) than a stamped receiver so you only need 4 U.S. parts without a muzzle device and 5 with a muzzle device. I'm a noobie so don't break my balls if I'm wrong!
