Me and a couple of buddies are heading to hike Mt Elbert in August. Anybody have any tips on a place to stay? There seem to be expensive motel 6 looking places and some rental houses that look decent.

I hiked that mountain a few years ago, very enjoyable! Air gets thin up there....take lots of water and sun screen & shades.
We stayed in Avon I believe and just drove to the trailhead.
