From what I know about these mags is they were supposed to be destroyed as they did not meet the expectations of the soviets military..A fellow kca member who spoke to Kalashnikov here in the states says he was suprised to see one in the hands of a westerner.Get em when you can.
Aluminum russian mag prices?
I know that these are quite hard to come by and I was wondering what would a run of the mill example of one of these mags fetch at market. Also, was there an importation of these exclusively at one time, or were they brought here mixed in with other types? I just saw one on gunbroker recently for $150 with no bids (I wonder why...) and thought that maybe they really are that rare. Are they? If you've got one and don't mind, tell us how much, where, and when you got yours.

They were in the "sportsman's guide" import about 2-3 years ago. Many came in but made a small percentage of the total. The one on GB you are talking bout is high for it's condition. I would buy a cherry one for $100-$125
An average condition one should sell for ~$100-110 at least.

Recent sale prices are typically $120 for a good one with few if any dents and 90 plus percent paint intact.
