I had the curious thought about attempting to use one of the Hensholdt Z 24 scopes on an AK type with a siderail mount. Anyone else try to mod one of the available mounts to hold a STANAG scope? I think in the end you would end up with a good optic at the least, not particularly cheap but better in quality than most anything else made for the AK.
This is the scope I am refering to http://www.militarygunsupply.com/shop2/ ... cts_id=112
I do think it could be done rather simply with one of the mounts that guys are modifying for the aimpoint (BP-02) as the STANAG mount is simply 2 bolts that hold the scope from underneath the mount. If the dimensions are there and clearance would not be an issue I think it could be done.

TAPCO used to sell an adapter (STANAG to weaver) but they don't list it anymore. Leapers has a multi-function adapter rail that bolts to a weaver rail and it has holes for the STANAG mount...the problem is the scope ends up being too high.

The below link shows the adapter which has the holes required to mount the STANAG scope
