4473 question re: Address change

I seem to recall a statement on 4473 concerning the purchaser - something about them residing at their current home address for 90 days.

If someone moves, are they "prohibited" from purchasing a firearm through an FFL for 90 days after their move?

If so, 90 calendar days or "business" days?

I picked up a rifle last week and filled out the 4473 form. I had just moved into a new house less than 30 days ago. All I did was use my new address on the form. I don't recall anything concerning 90 days on the form.
There's nothing about that on a 4473, but some states that have their own forms do have a residency requirement.

In VA, your driver's lisc. needs to be at least 30 days old, OR it needs to have "REI" on it instead of "N" or "D". Reissued to the new address is fine, but a New or Duplicate driver's lisc. needs to be at least 30 days old or have something like a bill to the same address that's at least 30 days old.

This was done because people were coming in from out of state, getting VA driver's licenses, and buying guns that day, then taking them out of state to put on the black market.

Can an out of state resident purchase rifles/shotguns in VA?

Sure, as long as what they're buying is legal in their home state.

For instance, a guy with a Cali driver's license isn't going to be able to buy a Colt 6920 or an Arsenal SA-M7 A1R.
My new address did not match the address on my license, so my FFL would not transfer anything to me until my license matched the address I had on the 4473.

All I had to do was go to the DMV and get a new license. Since the licenses come in the mail, they issue a paper temp-license. That temp license with proper address, along with a photo ID was all that my FFL required to do the transfer.
Thanks. I don't know where I got that impression. I've bought two firearms within the last month, somehow I got the imrpression the address was an issue.

"Or maybe I dreamed it."
