I picked up a rifle last week and filled out the 4473 form. I had just moved into a new house less than 30 days ago. All I did was use my new address on the form. I don't recall anything concerning 90 days on the form.
Can an out of state resident purchase rifles/shotguns in VA?Templar said:There's nothing about that on a 4473, but some states that have their own forms do have a residency requirement.
In VA, your driver's lisc. needs to be at least 30 days old, OR it needs to have "REI" on it instead of "N" or "D". Reissued to the new address is fine, but a New or Duplicate driver's lisc. needs to be at least 30 days old or have something like a bill to the same address that's at least 30 days old.
This was done because people were coming in from out of state, getting VA driver's licenses, and buying guns that day, then taking them out of state to put on the black market.
Sure, as long as what they're buying is legal in their home state.Kalash said:Can an out of state resident purchase rifles/shotguns in VA?Templar said:There's nothing about that on a 4473, but some states that have their own forms do have a residency requirement.
