First off I want to thank Miller Tyme for helping a brother out by finding this beauty.
It's a 1937 dated Tula that was captured by the Finns. After getting it from my FFL it has a few scuffs but honestly this rifle is absolutely beautiful. I am assuming this is the finish the Finns put on it as it does not look like Shellac. The bore is dark but it's still got a lot of life in it. Now it was counterbored at one point in it's life but at 165.00 shipped I am happy to have her and honestly I think I want another ;)

You would be surprised what a 9 mm brass brush, soapy water and elbow grease will do for that dark bore. I take it there are no import markings on it?

Very nice Saigaman, that beauty looks better than in the sellers pics. I have found a good way to clean a Mosin's bore is to run a mag of ammo down range and then swab it while the bore is still hot, after a couple of time they usually clean up nicely.

I agree. Looks better than their pics let on. Nice snag!

Also agree with "cleaning by shooting". I had a '35 PE that had what appeared to be a sewer pipe bore when I got it. After a few sessions of shooting and cleaning, it came out to about 95%. You'd be surprised, sometimes.

What surprised me was the condition....I mean it's used but on the outside it looks almost new.

I'm fairly certain that it was refinished by the Finns. I have two captured snipers that have the same finish. The blue is different than the original Russian finish (More black than blue and deeper).

You can NEVER have enough Mosin's............. :sniper:

That's the most Mosins in one room I've ever seen! I hope no one decides to open the door or there'll be Mosin turmoil a plenty. Deciding which one to take to the range might take me all day!
