1936 Tula Trials Rifle

I picked this little gem up at the OGCA show in Wilmington Ohio Yesterday, it’s a 1936 Tula Trials Rifle. It has the unique trials rifle features like the Mauser style nose cap, open bottom barrel bands S/N that starts with a “0” and a control number on the L/H side of the butt stock. The rifle also has wire sling hangers and is all stamped matching and all Tula parts. The SVT sling was an added bonus and will eventually go on my SVT 40.

So this is the one you mentioned earlier? Pretty damn cool, and I'm guessing rare as well. I've never seen a mauser style front band on a Mosin, Finn or not.

Yes Joe very rare (and expensive) but worth the coin. These rifles where produced in several variations by the Russians in 1936 for army trials and after the trials they where just put into service with other convential 91/30's so the chance one of these would have survived the GPW and all the refurb programs intact is pretty slim, and as such a must for my collection.

Got to ask, did the guy you got it from know what he had? or did he just think it was a regular 91/30?

Miller Tyme., nice find.., very nice variation Hey I was at the OGCA Show too on Saturday. did not see that rifle. But not surprising as there are thousands and thousands of rifles.
I did not buy anything.
You have some great finds in this section. I used to be a Mosin Nagant hound but kinda slowed up as they were running me out of room and the AK's got top billing for space.

The show was awesome Saturday, not to crowded and some pretty nice deals to be had. I wasn't planning on buying anything and actually sold an FN49, but this baby just talked to me and I figured it was probably my only chance to own a Siminov Trials Rifle.
