Polytech Factory 386 in 1987 China
I have read so much stuff online about the infamous "Polytech Factory 386", that I was kinda stunned to see actual pictures of it from back in 1987 (that have probably been posted here already). The "Legendary" (pun intended) Factory 386 is where all the Polytech rifles came from, or so I'm told. You hear the term "state arsenal" and you think these places are like some high-tech, high-security installation; surrounded by intelligence personnel and soldiers. Instead this is REALLY how it looks.
These pics all appear in this Guns and Ammo article from June of 2016
The workers all lived there on factory property and were raising their children to work there, too.
Chairman Mao watching dutifully over the production line.
Guy appears to be messing with a barrel? Has what looks like mag lock-up test device bellow?
