    Type 68 underfolder kit pics

Bought a type 68 underfolder kit from that PLO batch around 2002. All numbers matching except the bolt, not sure if its nkorean or not. The front trun got clipped pretty good in the demill. I believe this is the export version.

Packed it away for a dozen years and just pulled it out. Don't think I ever posted pics of it so here she is, for the first time since it was bought...

Notice how nice and square the recoil spring cut out is...

Great type 68 under folder kit. I had one built very much like it only in a little better condition (less rust and wood still had the finish on my kit). The rear trunion is very different and requires so special cutting on the receiver. The rear trunion rivets are also huge compared to standard rear trunion rivets from other countries.

    Is that you Martin?

Would love to see some pics. Do you still have it?

Elliot, no idea. Was hoping someone could give me more info actually. Glad you liked the pics.

Yep, it's me. My avatar is also used on the background of my book dust jacket, so that is one easy way to tell it is me.

No, I no longer own either of the type 68's I had. They were among the rifles I sold off awhile back. However I do have a few pics -NK68S01.jpgNK68S02.jpgNK68S03.jpgNK68S04.jpgNK68SRT.jpg

Unfortunately I didn't have a decent camera when these were shot.

Counting the one you have I personally know of 3 under folder kits and I know of 5 fixed stock kits. That doesn't mean that is all there is, just the ones I know of. There is also at least 2 Type 58 kits that made it in. Plus there is at least one and I believe two registered transferable Type 58's in the country.
