Looks like you've had one hell of a career brother....I managed to scan some early, pre digital photos.
This first is Plekiu, South Vietnam in the spring of 1970. I am in the middle with Bud. ''Church Key'' (can opener) required.
Fast forward 33 years. I am standing with a portrait of Saddam in Taji, Iraq June 2003. He may have been on the phone with Putin. The IBA is just the shell with 2 Iraqi Teknika plates (5.56 and 7.62 AK rated dtd 1980). In other photos I wore this over the crap flak jacket I was issued ( unlike my Vietnam flak jacket, it had 1980's stylish shoulder pads) but the same effectiveness.
I am standing next to an abandoned T54/55 well decorated Soviet era tank. Taji, Iraq June 2003.
Just me and DSHK 12.7mm one of the convoys found laying on the side of MSR Tampa near Mosul August 2003.
Fast forward to 2008. The M1117 ASV (Armored Security Vehicle) was an interesting vehicle. It had the best AC but poor visibility. Not a favorite of the Infantry that manned them for convoy escort, CETs. I saw its daddy, the V100, in Khontum 1970 carrying twin .30 Cals in the turret. A smidge more fire power in the M1117. Location Camp Arifjail, Kuwait.
Oh and the drip pan should be to the rear where the engine is ;-D
