IIRC,the russians have also done some interesting enhanced enetration/performance rounds with the 9x21,and even the 9x18(for the PMM,and SOME Stechkin APS variants).
Think a cupro-nickel jacket,a lead"cup" below that and center/front-a pointed&hardened steel core.Launched at "better than+P specs,it seems to combine good penetration AND soft tissue damage...kind of a "hollow point with a drill bit in it" concept.

Not as far as I know. Thats what makes the Military Russian Mak somewhat hard to find.

yes, but that was back in the early mid 90s, then a trade agreement was signed in 95, so no more MAKAROVs, TIGRs, could be imported.

 

I've seen a PSM for sale one for $2,500, way back, then I have heard of some sold in the $3K range.

There is a member on Gunboards that has 2 or 3 PSMs with bunch of ammo, he has an interesting background too.

Think I'll stick with a Glock 17/19, SIG P226/P228/P229, HK P30, or even a Beretta M9.
