CAI VZ's wont dry fire, can't remove dust cover!??

I have 2 CAI VZ58's.....one I had apart once to clean, the other is NIB...just now I tried to dry fire to field strip and both rifles act as if they are "on safe"...trigger just pulls gently all the way to the rear with no "click"...and can't remove the dust covers on them.....what the hell is going on?

I have run the charging handle several times on both, that function is fine, safety snaps back and forth as normal, but the striker won't fall?????

    Both guns won't fire?

Are you pulling the safety towards the rear? I believe that's the Fire position on the Century guns. They're opposite of CzechPoint rifles. Don't pull the trigger gently, snatch it.

No, the safety is in the fire position....its a dead trigger, nada, nothing...2 VZ's, identical issue. These are my first ever VZ's I should say...however the one I did have apart once and it went fine. I wonder was the striker put together "wrong", sear issues?? stumped.

Try it pushed forward, if possible, just to humor me.

It's possible to trip the sear by removing the pistol grip, pushing the nut up into the action, and using a pick or hook to drop the striker. I've never had to do that, but I have heard of it done here by guys who's triggers wouldn't reset.

Very odd that both of them have the same issue.

Edit: LOL. I was typing my response while you were typing yours. Stuff happens. Glad they're not broken.
