    Florida alert!!!! Florida alert!!!!

This is very dangerous, they actually want to destroy your right to keep and bear arms in Florida! Those people MUST be stopped!

The Florida Ban on Military-Style Firearms and Disqualifications for Firearm Possession Initiative (Initiative #18-03) may appear on the ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment on November 3, 2020.[1]

The measure would ban persons residing or entering the state from possessing military-style firearms. The measure would define military-style firearms as "any gun with a magazine capacity of more than seven rounds of ammunition or any weapon capable of firing in fully automatic mode, any weapon capable of being modified in any manner to fire in a fully automatic mode or any weapon classified as a sniper rifle."[1]

The measure would also prohibit persons from possessing any firearm if the person had (a) been convicted of a felony; (b) been convicted of three or more misdemeanors; (c) his or her driver's license revoked for driving under the influence, reckless driving, or excessive speeding; (d) been subject to two or more domestic abuse emergency calls or investigations; (e) been diagnosed by a medical professional as psychologically disturbed; or (f) made any substantiated threat of violence against another person.[1]

The measure would delete the existing language of Section 8(a) of Article I of the Florida Constitution, which provides people with the constitutional right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves.[1]
If all else fails, play dead!

That would quite literally ban anything that wasn't a pistol, and most pistols too.

Lets hope it doesn't pass, and if it is swiftly swatted down by the courts. Which i expect it would be. That ban is so sweeping and generalist that it could apply to just about any firearm.

Your typical bolt action 'hunting rifle' could be argued to be a sniper rifle. Any semi-auto firearm can theoretically be made full auto. So basically all rifles would be banned with this law. As well as any pistols that could have full auto parts installed.

The reality is the last AWB failed only by a few votes which was an eye opener for me. This bill is much more strict, and chalked full of even more horse shit than the last that it won't pass this time. However, they will accomplish what they seek to some extent very soon. Give it 5 years and we are fucked for sure. I'm out of this place because I can no longer take it. You can thank the fine residents of New York and New Jersey for bringing in their bullshit. Florida isn't lost yet, but mark my words because it will be. The turn coats down south will ensure of that, just so they can collect their paycheck a little while longer.

Which communists drafted this shit anyway?

I keep wondering at what point will legislators that violate the constitution, and states that enact laws that violate the constitution be held accountable?
