Not sure, but I’ve seen one similar that was described as being made from laminated sheets of some plastic. Looks kinda one-offish, doubt they were made in significant quantity

The "laminated" plastic is neat. Overall those are god awful ugly IMO though

Nope--high bidder is me. I'll have it in my hands in a week or two, but for now, I already know that the bore is as crisp and clean as if it had just left an Iraqi armory. Which is to say, dark and possibly rusty based on the seller having run a patch through the barrel. No info on its origin.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the "ergonomic" finger grooved grip?

Iraqi innovation, or a copy of another AK variant?

    Thanks,
    Trog

Likely a cut down Zastava non chromelined barrel.

That's what I'll likely replace it with, if replacement is needed. It does have that unique Iraqi muzzle device and FSB/gas block, which is nice.

Ever see handguards like that before? I'm wondering whether they're copied from another AK model, or some sort of Iraqi innovation.

Look to be one-off grip and handguard.
There were/are half a dozen variations.
Though the gold plated looking ones tend to be the more standard pattern it seems.

I’ve only seen one or two photos of nonstandard pistol grips. I think they were on the silver pimp guns both times.

Very short barrel, haven’t seen photos of anything else that short. And no bling.

A practical shooter, maybe for the Fedayeen?

There was a white plastic furniture set similar for sale here about 5 years ago. I was interested but the seller would not lower his price, it was around $600. Seller also had a top cover with a bullet hole in it that was not for sale. I searched but couldnt find the old ad.

    Found it

This is such a wide open field to study.

White or black plastic, and the examples above, I'm guessing one would have to be a general to be able to do such a special order. Of course, the Iraqi Army had many, many generals.

I may have posted these somewhere in another thread previously, canít recall. Here are a few photos I received from a guy overseas that I bought some items from a while back:

Somewhat relevant to the thread? I didnít end up purchasing anything pictured above and this was a long time ago.
