Doc a question about your kit... the factory Tabuk Snipers were designed as semiauto rifles but of course had the dreaded “third pin” like the military issue PSL and M-76 DMRs. Do you know what the design of the additional safety feature that went into that axis hole was? Did it look like a regular full-auto capable AK sear or was it more like the one in the military issue PSL? I’ve handled one of these rifles downrange but didn’t know enough about AKs at the time to take it apart and have a look at the fcg. I keep hoping Stottman is going to publish a volume of the AK Catalog with all the Iraqi photos he’s been keeping from us but I don’t believe he’s done so yet...

The Tabuks still have a third pin and the same full auto selector markings as a standard rifle. So I don't think there is any difference between the fire control.

All the Tabuk DMRs I remember seeing there (somewhere between 50 and 100):
    Had the three selector markings.
    Two angled selector stop cutouts.
And a normal Yugo style FA single hook trigger mechanism with the "auto sear" installed in the third pin hole.
    "odio vitae semper dissolubilis"

    "Ludo mentis sciem"

"Senecta aetas viresque, atque perfidium expugnat"

"sic semper purgamentus Yugo kalashnikov! Tempus orbem ad excoquam eorum et dimittetur eis!"

Interesting thanks for the info. I must be misremembering not seeing a second selector setting on the one I handled years back.

Stottman when are we going to see the Iraqi AK catalog??? I’ve got an original Iraqi Miltiary Production authority book with photos of all the weapons they made in the 1990s but nothing detailed like the photos you have in your books.

Edit: I’m not entirely misremembering! Per the photos on Berg’s excellent website http://www.designatedmarksman.net/iraq_tabuk.html

They had a marking for automatic but not a selector notch for automatic fire. KMFDM did you ever try to put it at that setting and fire automatic? I know “some” factory M-76s could do that if you set the selector just right.

No, I never really ever did that with the selector. To be honest I never thought about doing it-somethings are better left unknown/not done me thinks.

As for the automatic selector notch being present on a Tabuk DMR, there may have been one or two made? But I never saw one out there.

Because they are marked the same as other Tabuk rifles, I never bothered to do a function check to double check.

As for Iraqi stuff, it will probably be in volume 11.

Beautiful DMR for sure...Thanks for sharing.
I have all the parts for a build (not entirely original parts) but I am still missing a couple of parts. I am in need of a correct gas block! Any idea on where I can get the correct gas block?

Thanks for sharing and have you shot it yet?

Npap takeoff is the way to go; I used to have a few but sold them off here and there and the last one went with a tabuk DMR kit I had pieced together. Kinda regret selling that, but not really.

Thank you! Any idea on a place to look for them other than the forum?

I just bought a Two Rivers Tabuk but they are out of scope mounts (PSL). Anyone know where I could get a mount like the one in Doc's pics?

Not worried about the scope itself, I have an ON-M99 take off. The guy that had it wasn't going to be using it any time soon.

Wish I could have brought back the whole rifle but our command was a bunch of assholes.

    Got any close ups?

If directed to me, no unfortunately.

Left seater took that pic after I landed and picked up the rifle so some other shithead wouldn't pick it up and use it against us.

It was just like every other Tabuk that pics have been posted of, including the missing cheek piece and ON-M99 scope. It did look brand new, in 2004, though.
