    Soviet RPK-74 mag pouch question...

Inside the oil bottle pocket there are two other thinner pockets sewn into the inside, one in the back, one in the front/right. I presume one of these is for the cleaning kit, but what about the other one? The AK74 pouches I have seen only have one pocket inside the oil bottle pocket, so I'm trying to figure out what RPK specific doohickey might go in there. Anyone know?

    Stripper clip guide?
Some of you are too young to remember this but back in my day we had so much toilet paper that we threw it into the trees of our enemies.

Could be! The AK74 pouch has a little retention strap over the loaded-clip pocket that seems to be designed to hold a loaded stripper with the guide attached for quick use. The RPK74 pouch does not have such a retention system for it's loaded stripper pockets, so it makes sense that the guide be kept elsewhere on the pouch. The cleaning gear pocket seems like a strange location...but otherwise it seems like a very solid theory. It does fit in there. Anyone else have any ideas / info on this?
