Does anyone know what country this bayonet is from? I can tell that it is a type I bayonet but don't have much of an idea of its origin. Any help would be appreciated.

    I agree - Hungarian.
Constantly studying spots welds, mag well dimple shapes, center support rivet heads and selector markings for the last 12 years...

BTW - Keep your BFH away from my AK!

What did you pay if you don’t mind sharing, they don’t come up for sale often so I’ve seen prices all over the place.

I paid $39 for it, the only Hungarian bayonets I've seen online while reading have been $50 and up.

Good buy, now you need to find the belt frog. Hungarians are unique and different from other countries and has a leather strap to secure the bayonet in the scabbard and another strap for the belt loop.

Nice find. I can't tell if you have matching serial numbers, but the serial number on the cutter plate indicates military issue as opposed to commercial/export sales. These military versions don't appear as often as the commercial sales/export ones in the market place.

Here is a link with pictures of the Hungarian AK bayonet hanger system:

I concur with furtium. This bayonet exhibits some carry use and with the dust/dirt around the anvil & stud, might possibly be a Afghan/Iraqi vet bring-back. I have seen a few & mine came home that way (picked up @ the SOS a few years ago).

Not to hijack the thread, but maybe ya'll could help with my bayonet too. I picked it up on gunbroker for $15. Seller said it was Russian, but I have no idea as to the accuracy of that.

Mightve been one of those "it's for an AK, it's Russian" guys on there.
