I just bought one of the paratrooper kits. Talked to andrew and he said he would send me one that was unissued. He told the truth! This thing is absolutely brand new. Not a scratch on the carrier where it contacts the hammer. Kit is flawless, perfect, new, unfired, unissued, amazing, and Ill throw in there PRISTINE. LOL

The LHGs used for the Century imports were given dongectomies, made obvious by the lamination pattern visible on the underside. Pretty sad, those were the best of all the AES10b imports and the intact dong LHGs would have enhanced their collectability and value.

Yes., a shame that the forward pistol grip was neutered on those imported RPK's

I purchased a Century import forward grip M64 RPK maybe 8 years ago at the Louisville Show of Shows.

Fixed stock that did not match well but the grip is why I purchased it.

Sellers story was that it was originally owned by a Century employee and was imported in that configuration.

    Forward grip is stamped matching.

I was never sure about that story but it kinda makes sense after seeing the more recent imported kits.

Though they have the sidefolder stock.

I removed the mismatched laminate buttstock and added a pushbutton folder.

One of my favorite AK's., just because it is kinda odd.

One here. This pic is supposedly the AK display case at the Military museum in Bucharest, Romania. Basically all the hard to find rifles from the early 90s, late 80s in one place. I already talked to the museum though, and they will let me photograph them for my book series, but I can' t take them out of the case....... .Kind of defeats the purpose.

That’s just about the whole 1980+ herd, don’t see a 5.45 shorty. 5.45 RPK and the grenade launcher would be the only “impossibles” (to find here) that I spot.

Photos of one side in cases? Clearly this museum staff does not know who they’re dealing with.

That sucks, maybe play on the directors ego if you can get to him? "I would love to highlight your collection in my books just as I have the royal armory of England's collection, etc". I'm sure you are/have tried hard, would just really be nice to see details on as many original rommy guns as possible.
Some of you are too young to remember this but back in my day we had so much toilet paper that we threw it into the trees of our enemies.

Fixed AK-74, first variant of shorty 7.62x39 with oddball side folder, side folder / forward gripped RPK are the main ones that stuck out to me. And the others might look "run of the mill", but am sure there is something special. Maybe #1 or something.
