    Are DSA RPDs anygood?

i just ordered a DSA RPD and I know I should of made this thread before ordering it but I'm very impatient and I really wanted it lol..
Do there RPDS have any issues?does anyone here own one?all the YouTube videos I've watched about DSA RPD they all seem great.im just wondering if I made a good decision or not.also how is there customer service as far as warranty issues goes?
This is my first beltfed gun so does anyone have any good advice to offer?thanks alot..I ordered the long barrel one with the wood furniture because it was in my price range.
My RPD should be here by Friday and I'll post pics of it as soon as I get it..

My advise to you is to go through this sub-forum page by page and spend the evening reading. LOTS of stuff you need to know if you are going to own an RPD. I have posted a fair amount about them and guys WAY more knowledgeable than me have posted even more. They can be very good IF you are willing to tinker as they break in.

My eyes started to hurt after going thru the first 20 pages without any info about these besides people who are looking for info to buy extra belts without having to buy the drums to people asking where the can get just the DSA receiver..I did find a video from 2011 about one having issues with light primer strikes..
Anyone buy one of the 2014-2015 models?have DSA worked out the minor bugs the earlier models had?

I also have another question if anyone sees this and can answer this..
When I was looking for an RPD I was on a strict budget of $2200,the first company i contacted after doing a Google search was Stan szalkowski from project guns,I emailed them and asked if they had any RPDs for $2200 and was told simple NO and that they are $2500,it kinda sucked that they passed up a $2200 offer for a $2500 rifle but it could be that these RPDS are in high demand and/or the profit margin isn't that much so every dollar counts so that's what made me go the DSA route and get one shipped for $2000 out the door shipped to my FFL which left me with $200 extra im my pocket maybe I'll buy a can of ammo with that extra $200..anyways im getting of topic so let me get straight to the question..
I saw that DSA offers the short barrel RPD carbine as well but at a much higher price(I think it was $2600) is the carbine the same exact rifle as the long barrel RPD but with a cut barrel?i was thinkin in the future to get the barrel cut down to 14inchs with a 2inch muzzle brake welded so it can comply with my local gun law of having a 16inch barrel..
Can I get the barrel cut down (shorten)or do I have to buy a new shorter barrel and get that installed?
Also what's a ball park figure on how much it'll cost to get my original barrel cut down to 14in and add a 2in muzzle brake?is it a hard process for a professional gun smith to Shorten the barrel on my RPD im expecting to receive in a few days?

Is DSA making their own receivers or are they using the Wiselite? Wiselite receiver had some frequent known issues with minor fitment.

As far as searching on a forum; use google. Most forum search engines are terrible. Here's what you do:
in the google search box type, www.theakforum.net: xxxxxxxxx
    x's being your search terms.

I sincerely hope you do get it by Friday. When I talked to DSA at the NRA show this month I asked about the same RPD you are getting. They told me there was a '6 month' backlog right now.

I actually ordered it from a DSA dealer off of gun broker and I got it $200 cheaper than what DSA has them advertised on there website..he had 2 in stock and they're brand new and comes with everything it's suppose to..It arrived yesterday(Friday) at my local gun store but I just picked it up today..
Before I ordered it off of gun broker I did call DSA and the guy told me there's an 8 month wait
