Surplus PSL`s would have a third pin hole and a bayonet lug. Classic`s do not.

    They were always semi-auto.

Anyway, watch the video. Lots of cracked wood on them. Arsenal refurb.

Look at the video (not the still pics in the ad) closely, there actually are three pins. They're playing coy about it but I'm speculating that - since they are visible - apparently ATF signed off. The parts don't exist to make a PSL f/a, the third hole is for a safety sear and apparently someone convinced ATF of this fact. Note also that the "type 1" scopes are quite rare.

I went through the ordering process on the phone, but when they got to the end and said the sales tax would be over $400 I immediately cancelled. They don't have operations in my state, I wouldn't dream of paying that.

The new sales tax law is applied in all states now. But $400 seems excessive to me. I assume the price was $1600. In that case $400 is 25% sales tax. Not even CA has such high rates. But what do I know? I am just an internet expert.

I remember the batch of Century PSLs that had the third pin hole welded over at the factory. Those were declared contraband. Would suck to shell out coin and get a "turn in your rifle letter" like I did when I unknowingly bought a Maadi (new in 1993) and received such a letter soon after.

That aside, if these are legit with Cugir markings on the bottom of the receiver it has my interest. $140 tax for me.

Their calculation was correct - was buying >1 - but the lump sum was more than I could bear.

The giveaway PSL is the commercial export version, not the milsurp version.

Does this mean we can import milsurp M76s now?

This all needs to be confirmed, the key word in my post is “speculating”. Look at their video on a decent-sized screen (not a phone) and judge for yourself.

Classic just charged me 7.75% sales tax in Ohio which is about right depending on which county you live in. My county is 7.5%. Sucks for all of use but it’s been coming for a long time that the states were demanding sales tax be collected on line. Going to see a lot of our gun and ammo sources dry up when they loose the ship out of state price advantage. I know I’ve talked myself into a lot of shit I don’t need when it was tax free and free shipping.

I'd buy one if I could specify the early scope type but it's just "luck of the draw." Too bad.

Yes they were always semi-auto but the original PSL`s had the third pin hole and used the auto sear as a safety device. Some made it to the states that way and were confiscated by ATF. A surplus PSL would have the third pin hole.
